    Jumping Fun

Having not jumped Fergus since the Club Show, I thought it was about time we went out to play; it turns out going Clear Round jumping is cheaper than hiring an arena of jumps for an hour, so off we toddled to the North Herts Equestrian Centre!

    Good Follows Bad

Following the bad news earlier this year that Flynn had torn the deep digital flexor tendon in his foot, which means our eventing season was abruptly put to an end, I have now been concentrating on Fergus since the end of March.

Getting ready for the 2017 season

Since our last BE event in October last year Flynn and I have spent most of our time hacking at home with the odd schooling session here and there, so he’s had plenty of time to recharge his batteries ready for the 2017 season.

    Fun and Games with Fergus

Since Fergus’ arrival in July last year, we have been quietly getting to know each other in between competing with Flynn over the latter part of the 2016 season. We had great fun and things were going really well.

    Ending the Season in Style

With the eventing season coming to an end, we headed off to Little Downham for our last event to compete in the BE90 Regional Final, our one and only chance of qualifying for the Mitsubishi Motors Cup at Badminton next year.

    Back on Track

Having withdrawn from the last two events I was very excited to be heading off to Horseheath’s inaugural event. The sun was shining and Flynn and I were up for it.

    New Beginnings

Since losing Spider earlier this year I have been doing lots of soul searching…Do I get another horse? Do I just concentrate on Flynn? If I do get another horse, do I get a baby or do I get a proven competition horse? Do I give up completely?

    Bad Luck and Bad Weather

The best laid plans don’t always come to fruition, after having had a fantastic run at Keysoe with the Riding Club we had a run of bad luck with horrendous weather and uncomfortable shoes!

    Badminton Success

So, we've done it, we've completed our first Mitsubishi Motors Cup at Badminton! And WOW... what an experience it was!!!! We arrived in torrential rain, not a good start, but we were optimistic the weather would change for the better!

The Highs and Lows of Horses

A lot has happened since our incredible high at Oasby…We tragically lost Spider two weeks later to a sudden and very bad bout of colic which was absolutely devastating; it was such a shock and I still can’t believe it writing this nearly a month later.

    A First For Us

So, after having a little wobble over the last couple of weeks (two falls showjump training at home – one was pretty nasty), Flynn and I went to our first BE competition of the season aiming to have fun and stay on!

    Team Qualified

Last Saturday we went to Keysoe for the Area Dressage Qualifiers competing for the Cambridge and District Riding Club. We rode the BRC D10 test for one of our Novice and Intermediate Teams. Flynn warmed up really well using the techniques we learnt at camp the previous week.
