    Tough Few Weeks

I'm sad to say it's been a very very tough few weeks...On the Friday of Addington High Profile Show, Leo was given a couple of hours in the field before we travelled. Sadly he spent those few hours playing a little too harshly.

A Great Start to the New Year

Leo and I have enjoyed a lovely Christmas, but we had only a limited break as we have been busy throughout December preparing for the FEI test review weekend for the GB Pony Squad riders.

    Change of Discipline

As Leo has been working and trying so hard with his training I thought it was important to give him a break and have a little bit of fun.

Exciting News & Hoping for a Wildcard

I'm very excited to tell you all that following the GB British Dressage Pony Viewing day in September, Leo and I have been invited to be one of the Pony Prime Squad Reserve Combinations for 2017, with some truly lovely feedback from the Pony Selectors!

    A Crazy Month

It's been such a crazy month here everyone, so much to tell you all. Firstly Leo and I had a simply brilliant week at the Sheepgate Under 25 British Dressage Championship where we made our 2016 objective come true!

    Bury Farm Regionals

We have just got back from the Bury Farm BD Regionals, we were in two huge silver classes both of which had 37 competitors! We arrived on Monday without having been able to do an arena walk, so as we entered the ring Leo had something of a panic at the podium.

    Could Not Be Prouder

Last weekend Leo and I went to Sheepgate to compete in his first full weekend of medium level dressage tests. It was a big ask, but what can I say apart from Leo was a superstar and I am so proud of him!

    Leo goes to BYRDS Inter-Regionals

Leo and I competed at the BYRDS Inter-regionals in sunny North Yorkshire. These are rider tests that are marked somewhat differently to normal tests, as the marking is based on the rider not the dressage, however suffice to say in my experience there can be some rather quirky judging at times.

    New Addition to the Team

Sadly straight after my last blog, Leo started suffering with a virus and the vets advised to give him 3 weeks off work. The good news is he is now well again and back in full work. We also have a new addition to the team, Ronnie!

    Lots of Transitions

Well, it’s been a busy couple of weeks and Leo and I have both been working hard training. From Leo’s perspective, we have spent the month really working on developing his collected canter. I am also in training. As a competitive rider, it’s important that I work on my own strength, core condition and fitness, otherwise I can affect Leo’s way of going.

    Super Weekend at Sheepgate

Leo and I are just back from a really great weekend at Sheepgate Equestrian. On a positive note, he's really starting to settle and relax at show environments – we still have way too much tightness and tension at times and curbing his enthusiasm is a constant balancing act, but we are slowly but surely improving in our consistency.
