I joined Dengie in 2002 initially in the Sales Orders Office after completing my degree in Animal Science and Behaviour. In May 2004 I moved to the nutrition team and by 2005 had completed my MSc in Equine Science with distinction, which I was exceptionally proud of.

My research project focused on feeding behaviour and I completed a preliminary investigation into 'The effects of an equine grazing muzzle on grass intake and grazing behaviour'.

Hobbies and Interests

I have my own horse Polo, a 15.2hh Appaloosa mare that I have owned since September 2010. I am a ‘happy hacker’ and am lucky enough to live in the countryside and be at a yard with lots of off road riding round the farm. Other than horses another big passion is gardening particularly growing vegetables. So if I’m not down the stables I can generally be found on the veggie patch!

    Not so glorious mud!

    It’s not even really the winter yet, but the wet and corresponding muddy conditions are already making a nuisance of themselves; not that my veteran pony Kizzy really seems to mind though!
