Team accepted onto BETA Equine Nutritionist & Feed Adviser Register

We are pleased to announce that following a thorough application process, three members of our nutrition team, Katie Williams, Tracey Hammond and Katie Reeve have been accepted as Equine Nutritionists on the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) Equine Nutritionist and Feed Adviser Register (ENFAR) Area Sales Manager Rebecca Opie has also been accepted as a Feed Adviser and other members of the Dengie team are underway with their applications too. This recognition is important because, unlike vets, the title ‘nutritionist’ isn’t legally protected. This means that anyone can claim to be one, even without any qualifications. As misinformation becomes increasingly widespread on social media platforms, it’s become more important than ever to verify the credibility and expertise of those giving advice.

Dengie Nutrition Team

ENFAR has been developed by the BETA Feed Committee to promote best practice and promises to promote the highest standards of evidence based feeding advice for horse owners and the wider industry. Those on the ENFAR can be found on the BETA website along with the criteria for both types of members and the assessment procedure.

Whether you have family ponies or top-level competition horses, working alongside a nutritionist can often make a big difference in supporting your horse’s health, wellbeing and performance. A lot of the time, tackling issues like weight management will generally be easier and more successful if you have help and support along the way. There’s rarely a single ‘right’ way to feed, and an experienced nutritionist will be able to guide you through the options and tailor a plan that works for both you and your horse.

If you would like friendly and practical advice, the Dengie nutrition team can be contacted on 01621 841 188 or by completing our online feed advice form.
