How Hero Found his Appetite with Dengie

Fiona Kashel, 5* event rider feeds all her horses on Dengie’s fibre feeds. Her 17-year-old Irish Sports Horse ‘Creevagh Silver de Haar’ (Hero) can be particularly tricky with feeding as he’s very fussy and easily over faced by his feed.

“Hero is really tricky to keep weight on so we have had to fiddle around with his feed a bit to get it right” says Fiona. “We have regularly visits from our Dengie Area Sales Manager, Rebecca Opie and their Performance Horse Nutritionist Claire Akers. They suggested we try Hero on Dengie Performance Fibre. Previously he refused to eat any chopped fibre at all but he loves the Performance Fibre and it has really helped him to keep his weight on and his energy levels up in the run up to Badminton. He’s feeling the best he’s ever felt!”

Dengie Performance Fibre is based on highly digestible fibre sources, alfalfa and grasses that is low in starch, making it ideal for promoting condition without excitability. The combination of the grasses, light molasses coating and the added spearmint oil makes Performance Fibre tasty, even for the fussiest of feeders.

“I was over the moon with Hero at Badminton, he’s such a good egg and completely kept his head in the buzzy atmosphere. He owes me nothing!”
