Head Office Vacancies
We are currently recruiting for a Production Operator and Logistics Operator at our Head Office site in Asheldham, Essex.
Production Operator
Support the production operation by preparing and feeding ingredients or onward processing of finished goods, as well as other associated duties.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of a Production Operator include:
- Undertake all tasks with due regard to safe systems of work, risk assessments and operational standards.
- FLT Truck pre-start checks and documentation.
- Maintaining the condition etc of FLT (e.g. refuelling, blowing out radiator, etc.)
- Complete a full verbal handover with incoming and outgoing Palletiser operators, straw operator, and green crop feed operator.
- Recording details as required on log sheet (s).
- Rejecting and segregating unsuitable bales, recovering straw where part bales are unsuitable.
- Undertaking daily/weekly plant maintenance as required, including re-orientating the chopping knives, greasing bearings.
- Disposing suitably of all waste (e.g. string, wires, strapping, etc.)
- Visual inspection of straw plant, green crop feed (traces/Mixers) and feed belts to the packing machines reporting any defects to Shift Supervisor or, in his absence, to Baler Operator.
- Starts/ stops and controls all plant in accordance with the requirements set by the baler operator.
- Understands emergency shutdown procedures of plant and restarting procedures following on from such shutdowns.
- Selecting appropriate bales for/Keenan and traces agreed with Baler Operator, Supervisor or QA as appropriate, removing strapping, tags, netting, wires.
- Monitor and reports condition of plant under his control.
- Maintains a clean and tidy work area at all times.
- Complete any required documentation.
Key Skills Required:
- Proven track record of working within a similar Production environment
- Qualifications in Health and Safety training.
- Good organisational skills
- Very strong communication skills both verbally and written
- Strong Team Player
- Fork Lift Truck driver/ Telehandler driver
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Pay Structure: £13.09 + shift allowance 91p (£14)
Plenty of overtime paid at 1.5 after 40hrs worked.
Working Patterns: Shift work required Days = 7am – 3.30pm (Mon- Fri). Nights = 7pm – 5.30am (Mon-Thurs)
Logistics Operator
To ensure the movement of raw materials and finished goods takes place in a safe and effective operation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of a Production Operator include:
- Completion of stock and distribution records.
- Supply of Lucerne, Straw and Grass bales and any other ingredients and components to the production areas.
- Collection and storage of bales of Lucerne, Straw and Grass.
- Move products to and from the storage areas e.g. ingredients, packaging, finished goods, bales etc.
- Complete a thorough verbal handover with incoming and outgoing operators.
- Shift working Days and Nights.
- Weekend and bank holidays working during drying season will be required.
Key Skills Required:
- Proven track record of working within a similar Production environment
- Qualifications in Health and Safety
- Good organisational skills
- Very strong communication skills both verbally and written
- Strong Team Player
- Forklift Truck driver (Minium 6months driving experience).
- Telehandler and Shunter skills (training will be provide for the right candidate)
- Tractor and Trailer training for Silo refilling.
- Computer Skills Working with Printers and Scanners.
Reports to: Logistics Supervisor / Production Manager
Pay Structure: £13.09 + shift allowance 91p (£14)
