Our new ‘Tummy Loving Care’ Biotics logo will be introduced to select feeds this Autumn. The new eye-catching logo was designed to help horse owners easily identify which feeds in our range contain our special blend of digestive aids which includes prebiotics and postbiotics. The feeds in which will be featuring the new Tummy Loving Care Biotics logo will be Healthy Tummy and Ulser Lite – two popular products from the Dengie stable.
Terms like ‘microbiome’ and ‘digestive health’ have become increasingly popular as more is understood about the link between the bugs that live in our horses’ guts and their impact on their health and well-being. ‘Biotics’ is another word that is gaining traction as it is a useful umbrella term for all those ingredients that are live or originate from live bugs, or act on the bugs in the digestive system. Digestive biotics might be a more complete and accurate way to describe them and the biotics term also differentiates these ingredients from others that might also be described as aids to digestive health.
Using a digestive aid can be very beneficial for a wide range of horses such as veterans, those with digestive upsets, when travelling, competing and other causes of stress that increase the risk of digestive health issues. However, none of the digestive aids will work efficiently if poor feeding practices aren’t corrected too so the first step should always be to ensure the basic rules of feeding are implemented as fully as possible.
