In her latest blog, Tanya Buckingham updates us on her plans for the New Year and how she plans to kick start the 2024 event season.
So with only a few weeks to go until we are allowed out of “lockdown” with the horses we can all start to get a little bit excited, especially as we no longer have snow and ice! As soon as March 29th hits I have sessions with Chris Bartle and Susie Gibson booked in to […]
Well this is a blog I didn’t expect to have to write...eventing is off! All the horses are on great form and have been busy in preparation for their season to start, which unfortunately has been delayed!
Tanya Buckingham is out of action whilst she recovers from a virus and the horse's diets are checked by Dengie Performance Horse Nutritionist Claire Akers.
Eventing is like a game of snakes and ladders...one minute your on the ladder up and everything is going well and the next minute it all goes wrong and your back on the bottom trying to work out what happened.
After a long winter of training, building up fitness and actually enjoying the freakish weather we are finally back out eventing and it’s blinking brilliant!
2018 was a mixed year for Tanya Buckingham with some good results, but also a tragedy when she lost her horse Skip whilst training at home. Find our what her goals are for 2019.
So this season has been a real roller coaster of emotions, winning my first International on Candy, moving her up to Advanced and then jumping double-clear around her first 3* at Burgham International, to then going to Blenheim full of excitement for a good result and having an over-excited horse on my hands.
Over the last few months there has been lots of eventing, a yard move and scorching weather! The horses have so far (touch wood) all been on very good form this season!
Well since my last blog we have had more events cancelled!! We did however manage to get a run at Great Witchingham with Candy in the CIC* and I’m very excited to say it was worth the 6 hour drive as she WON!!
The horses are all fit and raring to go, we have been on XC schooling trips to Somerford Park and Richmond, been out to BS and BD competitions, hacking, training and started our trips to the gallops!
We had a trip to South Africa over Christmas so it was a case of sunbathing and searching for different animals on safari...a very different way to spend Christmas but it was fab!
